Cooper had a great night. He slept, without waking up, until 7:45 this morning. When we took him in for breakfast at 8:20, he refused to eat. He drank a little juice and just didn't act like himself. Within a few short minutes he started throwing up. And so the side effects of Chemo started! He had his first therapy at 9, which he ended up sleeping through. We got him up for his 10:00 OT session. He barely made it through that. He had ST at 11:00 which also wasn't very successful. Usually we make him work through all his sessions even if he is fussing because we know he needs them. But, today we didn't have the heart because we knew it was due to Chemo. He didn't eat any lunch and slept until almost 3. PT came in this afternoon and surprisingly he was able to work a little while with her. Then he was so tried afterwards he napped until dinner time. He didn't eat dinner and was very fussy. We took him to see the fish, which he loves. They were turned off while we were playing, so we had to come up with a new plan. We found a huge wagon and stuffed it full of blankets and pillows. Cooper was able to relax and enjoy the ride!

While Cooper slept, Mommy and Daddy did a little shopping. We got Cooper a Christmas Tree, ornaments, a stocking, and a few gifts. We put the tree next to his bed. We all enjoy the lights this time of the year.

This was the start to our day: napping on Mommy's lap.

Cooper loves anything with fur - here he is playing with the horse's mane in a story book.

Enjoying the Fish: He chases them everywhere!

  1. As I look at the pictures tonight, tears start to roll down my face. Thinking about Cooper not feeling well and having to go through so much. Thoughts of you all not being home for Christmas. The need to hold my little guy and give him a big hug. So much heartache, but yet so many blessings! I pray that the chemo will get better and that all of you will have many wonderful days ahead. Love, Hugs & Prayers

  4. Prayers for our sweet Cooper ..... i hate to think of him enduring that double edged sword which is Chemo... So important to his treatment. And yet wreaking so much havoc. Ugh. Just want to say Mommy and Daddy are so strong and brave and we are praying for you as well as you all go through this. At least he seems in good humor alot of the time. Rest is so good for him too of course, so hopefully his therapy wont be too affected by his days after chemo ...
