Wednesday: December 11, 2013

First I'd like to say thanks to all of you who prayed we'd find a place to stay. We were so upset over the situation yesterday we really didn't know what to do. Before going to bed, Randy and I prayed for it to work out. We were about 2 hours away from CHKD today when we got a call saying there was a cancelation at the Ronald McDonald House! We had a room!

Cooper had the best time today. Actually, we all did. We took our time and enjoyed so much today. We stopped at McDonald's for breakfast and spent forever there. Cooper loved it! We also stopped at Starbucks for a snack and spent a short while walking around. Cooper (and Mommy and Daddy) loved being out in the real world as a family.

CHKD was so impressed with Cooper. When we left here, he couldn't open his eye, move his left arm, and had very little motivation for moving. His eye is now open, he carries his left arm and plays with it, walks with help, pulls up on his own, and scoots everywhere. Randy and I have been so blessed by Cooper.

I want to thank everyone who is following us, sending us thoughts and gifts, and continuing to pray for us. We will be here until at least December 31st. Many have asked for the address here. I will post it tomorrow.

Here are the pics from our awesome day!

CHKD ready for Christmas

Leaving Roanoke this morning

Such a stinker, in the truck and ready to go!

Enjoying some milk at McDonald's. We froze, they didn't have heat, it was warmer outside!

He loves pancakes!
Mommy's Fav of the Day: I think he looks so much like my baby pictures in this one!

We're back!

Doing his own Physical Therapy!

Cooper got to see Santa today. He gave him a blanket and a cup.

  3. So happy that you made it safely and that you have a place to stay. Ronald McDonald House is a blessing to so many parents when their child is ill. I stayed in one in Albany NY when my oldest daughter had surgery. That was along time ago now but I know our Lord is watching over Cooper, you, Jessica and Randy. It will be a wonderful 2014 for all three of you. Be strong and God Bless. Praying each day.

  5. So glad everything worked out with a place to stay in Norfolk. Cooper looks absolutely amazing in the photos from your travel. The card I sent to you all eventually made it back to my house. I hope to get a new one back in the mail soon. Tony told me yesterday that he would like to get to know Cooper as he gets older. I think he feels a little connection there with Cooper since they have both had similar situations. Prayers for you all to continue to see wonderful progress for Cooper and a miracle that his beautiful eye will once again have sight and that he will be running up and down the halls of that hospital soon.
